CNC Milling Machine
Milling operation can be performed on this machine. This machining process involves removing of material from workpiece's surface using rotary cutters. The parts are machined to accurate sizes ans shapes using this machine in machine shops and industries. The milling process can be classified into two classes-face milling and peripheral milling. Earlier milling process was carried with traditional milling machine. With the introduction of CNC, traditional milling machines were replaced with CNC milling machine, also called machining center. The CNC milling machine is classified into horizontal machining center (HMC) and vertical machining center (VMC).
These machines are computer controlled with the ability to move the spindle horizontally and vertically. The general horizontal milling machine have three axes XYZ, but its advanced version-multiaxis machine has two more axis (C or Q and B) to existing axis. CAM is used to program the 5-axis machine.
